Did you know that the life expectancy of a 65 year old woman is 86.8 years of age and the life expectancy of a 65 year old man is 83.9 years of age? (Source: Australian Bureau of Statistics 2012). A harsh reality for all of us is that one day we will die. When this happens we will most likely leave behind an estate for the benefit of family, friends or a benevolent institution. It may sound simple, however in reality it seldom is for those who haven’t planned for this day.
